1. Why can't I download, connect, scan, acquire, or capture from my device?
We provide one or more software programs that come with your hardware bundle, and are only qualified to provide assistance for those programs. If you need help with connecting or downloading from a camera, scanner, etc., you will need to contact the manufacturer of the device for help. They will be able to help you with any hardware, connection, download, or compatibility problem. The problem may lie with the device driver. A "driver" is basically a program that provides the means of communication between your hardware device and your computer. If there is any problem with any data transfer from your device to the computer, a driver update may be required. The device manufacturer should assist you in these matters.

3. Why does it say that my capture device cannot be found?
The problem that you're having appears to stem from the camera drivers. Drivers basically relay information to and from the camera and computer. There are specific drivers for each hardware device.
The drivers may not be installed correctly, or are conflicting with other devices.
We provide support for the accompanying imaging software.
In any case, the camera manufacturer will be able to help you with any camera, driver, connection, and download problem. |

8. What is an ABM file?
ABM files are album files used by our programs. Albums do not store your images. They serve as links to files stored on your computer or removable drive. If you delete the original file, the thumbnail in the album basically becomes a dead link. For example, if you have files on a floppy disk and create an album, you'll always need to have that floppy in the drive whenever you want to view the full images. Likewise, if you have a digital camera that is read as a removable drive, you would need to have it connected if you create the album directly from the camera. The best thing to do is copy all of your images into a folder on your computer, *then* create the album referencing those files.
Albums are useful because they let you preview and organize files on your system in a convenient fashion. It is also from albums that slide shows are made with some of our programs. Thank you. |
